| Le
Muy is a small town in the eastern part of the department
of Var
(district of PACA).
This typical provençal town enjoys the favourable
climate of this part of France, with long and warm summers
and mild winters with lots of sunny days.
The town
has been attracting in increasing numbers local and foreign
holiday-makers, travellers, visitors and settlers particularly
because of its favourable situation.
Nestling
comfortably in the valley of the Argens river between the
Maures and the Esterel mountains, Le Muy is halfway between
Fréjus/StRaphael
and Draguignan
, the latter being the subprefecture (the second
important town) of Var. From here it takes only half an
hour to go to the beaches and the gulf of St Tropez
and not more than two and a half hours to reach the nearest
ski stations in the Southern Alps. Many
golf courses are to be found in the area - among others,
the St Endreol golf course in La Motte, only 5 km away,
and the one of Roquebrune sur Argens, 15 km away
Le Muy is
easily accessible from an exit of the A8 motorway
which makes it possible
to reach either Nice or Marseille in about an hour. The
TGV train station in Les Arcs sur Argens
at only 10 min from here facilitates trips to Paris and
other train destinations. And it takes only 45 minutes to
go to the international airport of Nice.
The town
hosts every Thursday and Sunday morning the most important
provençal market in the area with its typical products
like lavender honey, olives and olive oil, rosé wine,
locally-grown vegetables and fruit, as well as various hand-made
works of the local artists and craftsmen. |
